Red Box Karaoke Invades Cebu!

Categories: Featured, The Spot

Give man fish and he’ll live for a day. Give man a microphone and he’ll most likely sing all night long. Cebuanos love to sing, that a no-contest.  You can hear someone sing or hum a tune may it be while taking a dump, taking a shower, munching on breakfast, in public transit and specially in videoke/karaoke bars. To sum it up, Cebu is a good place for Karaoke/Videoke Bars to open on.

Here comes a new player to the Cebu “Videoke/Karaoke/Tambayan/Restaurant” scene, Red Box Karaoke. Red Box Karaoke officially opened their newest branch in The Terraces, Ayala Center Cebu last September 03, 2010 and we were invited for a private preview of the place last September 02,2010.

First impression? WOW! Red Box Karaoke in Ayala Center Cebu is in The Terraces, right beside Max’s Restaurant. Before the private preview, I had a feeling that Red Box Karaoke will only have 10-15 rooms with an hourly rate of 200php-300php, but I was dead wrong.

Red Box Karaoke in Ayala Center Cebu has 21 unique rooms, 2 of which (rooms #31 and 33) are the special big rooms; #31 having the billiards table and #33 having the poker table. The place was huge and every rooms has excellent interiors. Not the usual small room on Karaoke bars on Cebu. Every room has 2 monitors, 1 big monitor for the lyrics and video and the second small monitor is for the remote-controlled song selection.

Instead of having the usual per-hour rates of the regular karaoke bars in Cebu, Red Box Karaoke offers unique rate packages on a per-head basis. You can enjoy singing on your own time because Red Box has four time segments made to fit your lifestyle, choose from:

Lunch Hour (12NN-3PM)
– P299 per head
– Eat All You Can Buffet
– Free Room Use During Lunch Hour

Happy Hour (3PM-7PM)
– P199 per head
– Includes One (1) Free Drink*
– Free Room Use During Happy Hour

Primetime (7PM-12MN)

That is innovation at it’s best. We got a chance to talk to Red Box Karaoke Cebu Managing Director Allen Arvin Tan and Red Box Manila Managing Director Walden Chu and he gave a “reasoning” behind the pricing and other stuffs. Walden Chu mentioned that Karaoke has always been thought of as an after-dinner thing, so with the timeslots, addons on other rooms such biliards and poker, good food and others, they hope to redefine how Filipinos think of Karaoke time.

So gather your family and friends and visit the new Red Box Karaoke in Ayala Center Cebu and redefine your Karaoke Experience. Gather a minimum of 15 of your family and friends, and you can try out their signature rooms (#31 billiards and #33 poker).
